Shopping and wandering the vast area that is La Cañada, can really take it out of you. Breaking up the tiresome work of pacing up and down on the marble floors can be done by taking a well deserved refreshment break.
La Cañada has a multitude of restaurants which cover a range of cuisine. There are many Spanish chains of tapas restaurants, which as the name suggests serve tapas. Tapas can be quite small at times, so going for a ración may suit better, which is normally double the portion size. Alternatively, they serve sandwiches and full meals normally, though the selection can be small.
For the less adventurous of you out there who prefer more familiar food , La Cañada has catered for your fast food needs. McDonalds is located on the ground floor and on the first floor there is Burger King and KFC. In addition to the fast food restaurants, there are pizzerias and other international restaurants. One thing to note about some restaurants in Spain is that service can range from quick and efficient, to the complete opposite so be prepared to wait.
For those of you who do not need tapas or anything more substantial, there are numerous cafés located around La Cañada. In addition to these, there can be found fruit cocktail bars as well providing you with a refreshing healthy non-alcholic beverage.
Bottom line is you will not go hungry or thristy whislt shopping in La Cañada.

La Cañada Christmas
It feels as though this year has flown for some and for others cannot end soon enough however before the year is out there´s Christmas to celebrate. La Cañada shopping centre focuses on this festive time with an array of decorations throughout the centre. Located in the main area of the newer section of the centre is a massive Christmas tree. La Cañada makes this time of year memorable for the whole family and attempts to make visits to the centre during the run up and the main Christmas period as pleasurable as possible. La Cañada shopping centre is well worth a visit during this festive period so make sure that Christmas 2008 has at least one visit to the centre. In addition to the decorations normally there are events held in the centre as well, so keep an eye out for those also. Even though many of the Spanish celebrate Kings Day on the 6th January, a majority of the nation also celebrates Christmas a bit as well.

La Cañada Marbella - Safety Guide
As with many shopping centres, La Cañada alike does sometimes have light-fingered persons on it´s premises. Of late, there have been a couple of incidences which I have heard of, that warrant acknowledgment by shoppers. As with many situations common sense is the way forward, don´t get into a state of ecstasy over the fantastic purchases you have made and then forget your personal safety. Some pointers on things you can do as a shopper for personal safety:
These are only a few things that you could do to boost your personal security whilst shopping. Being alert and aware of your surroundings is free and surprisingly easy.
I should also point out that La Cañada does have security on premises, CCTV and a visual presence, but they cannot be everywhere at once.
As you would anywhere in the world, remember be safe by being sensible.
- Keep your handbag closed when being carried.
- If you do break for a coffee, link the bag to your arm or chair leg. Even better hold it on your lap.
- Do not advertise you have just withdrawn 1000€ in 20€ notes by counting it in the open.
- For men especially, if you bump or collide with another person, maybe check your wallet pocket subtly, just in case.
- When loading your vehicle, try to keep all items with you when loading the car. A good idea is to load all items into the boot and most modern cars allow the boot only to be opened as an option.

La Cañada shopping centre inside and out
The shopping centre inside is very modern and clean with a wonderful array of shops, boutiques and facilities. La Cañada itself consists of an inside area, which is the main shopping complex, and the outside area made up of a few other stores.
The outside area has the following:
- Narauto - for all you car needs
- Intersport - the international sports equipment store
- Boulanger - a huge domestic electrical store
- Building merchants - for building materials
- Leroy Merlin - an international home improvements store
There are other stores located on the outside of La Cañadas main shopping area but are considered part of the main complex. The inside of La Cañada is on 2 levels, with an underground car park for those of you who do not want to leave your vehicle exposed to the hot sun. I digress my apologies
The shops can be split into different areas, so below are listed their categories:
- Clothes
- Footwear
- House Products
- Cosmetics
- Childrens Clothing
- Sports
- Food
- Furniture stores
- Jewellery stores
- Miscellaneous stores
