La Cañada and children

As many of us parents know dragging a screaming child around every shop you want to visit in a shopping centre can be a living nightmare. However great news for those of us who are looking for a solution to this dilema. Camelot the company behind the outdoor childrens rides and trampolines dotted up and down the Costa, have decided to open an indoor play place in the car park of  La Cañada.

Sounds dark and worryingly fumey however surprisingly they have great lighting and fumes are not an issue as it is enclosed and obviously running off the same air sup`ply as the shopping centre. Located next to the pet shop in the carpark you no longer need to worry about an unhappy shopping assistant as for a small fee children can happily play whilst shoppers can concentrate on their shopping.

Adidas in La Cañada

There are man sporting brands out there that have failed to make it or are an underlying brand to the big guns however Adidas are not one of them and have stood the test of time.

Lovers of this brand will be delighted to know that at the top of the travelators in the newer section of La Cañada there will be a shop opening soon. For those of you familiar with l Cañada´s layout, the shop is replacing the Golf US shop which moved a few doors down a while ago.

The shop specifially for Adidas promises to be a welcome addition to the few other sports shops located in the centre however with a simgle great brand the competition may find it difficult to compete.

Taking a break in La Cañada

Not a recent addition to La Cañada but one well worth metioning as Terra Sana´s Express Cafe located near the front of the shopping centre breaks up an otherwise tedious experience for many shoppers. For those of you who are avid shoppers and have not been dragged along for advice or because you are a youngster Terra Sana provide some very welcome refreshment.

Intersport have moved

For many of us fit and healthly people we rely on good sports equipment and have relied on well known suppliers of sporting goods for years. One of these is of course Intersport who were located outside the main shopping area for years.
Intersport have now relocated and are inside the shopping centre  near the main entrance of the old section on the right so do not turn around and drive out when you see their old store closed, just wonder inside the shopping centre for their great range of shopping goods.

La Cañada and a theiving scam

Just really to give you all a heads up for all of you out there who are not locals and already the gossip. The latest scam to hit La Cañada shopping centre in Marbella is thefts from cars in the underground car park. This is not general theft from cars so do not panic and continue to use your common sense placing valuable items out of site and locked in the boot. The target for this scam is shoppers who return to their car with shopping then who return to the shopping centre to continue shopping. It is rumoured that there are lookouts in the car park who have targeted shoppers in the past. The good news is that there is now a heightened state of alert in the car park now and a larger security presence, especially for the summer visitors.
That said, La Cañada has a good track record in comparison with many of the Costa´s shopping centres and with common sense and vigilance, I know all you shoppers out there will be safe and sound.
